Wei XiaoMing
魏小明 1957年生於廣西北海,是當代中國極具國際視野的雕塑大師與教育家。他畢業於中央工藝美術學院,隨後留學奧地利,獲維也納皇家美術學院碩士學位,現任清華大學美術學院教授、北京美術家協會副主席。
魏小明被譽為「中國當代雕塑的浪漫主義先鋒」。他在80年代便以連環畫《黑駿馬》震驚畫壇,隨後深耕雕塑領域,成功將歐洲古典雕塑的嚴謹結構與東方寫意的靈動韻味結合,曾獲奧地利國家傑出藝術貢獻獎。

Wei XiaoMing born in 1957 in Beihai, Guangxi, is a contemporary Chinese sculptor and educator with a profound international perspective. He graduated from the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts before pursuing further studies in Austria, where he earned a master's degree from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Currently, he serves as a professor at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, and as Vice Chairman of the Beijing Artists Association.
Hailed as “the romantic pioneer of contemporary Chinese sculpture,” Wei made a sensation in the art world during the 1980s with his comic strip The Black Steed. He subsequently dedicated himself to sculpture, successfully blending the rigorous structure of European classical sculpture with the expressive vitality of Eastern freehand brushwork. He has been honored with Austria's National Award for Outstanding Artistic Contribution.
